The History of Clean River Fishing
Clean River Fishing was formed in the 1980’s in an era when angling was rarely featured on TV and there was a need for enlightening, entertaining and “How to” guidance Armchair Angling videos, presented by the country’s leading fishermen in all genre.
Coarse, Carp, Sea and Fly fishing. Then, internationally recognised anglers such as Kevin Maddocks and Liam Dale took the programming further by creating videos all over the world often breaking records in the process.
Liam Dale pioneered TV angling in some spectacular locations for the BBC, Discovery, Sky etc.. with programs on Lake Nasser for Nile Perch, Rainbow Lake; France for Carp and the now world famous Beluga fishing program in Kazakhstan, (Over 60 million viewers on BBC Worldwide) amongst others. The first time professional video crews had filmed fishing these waters for TV.
He became one of the world’s most prolific angling program makers (Inc a major primetime TV series “The Big Catch” for the BBC) and in fact, in the mid 2000’s, bought Kevin Maddocks out after having already produced 100 new titles for Clean River; adding to the growing archive.
This was at the time video was transferring to DVD and the delivery truck bringing the masters to HellD TV also carried no less than 243,000 video sleeves!
Liam then added another 50 + titles; including a total of over 70 in collaboration with his friend Bob Nudd MBE; 4 times world coarse angling champion. a unique 15 year TV partnership.
Now as the digital era gains momentum, Clean River is upgrading and “Up rezzing” the library of around 250 titles; All of which will be added here over time.
